I went to see The Horse Boy. I have a dear friend whose son is Autistic and hoped to learn and better understand her everyday life. This film was a sad documentation of two parents who truly love their son. However, it seems clear that they want Rowan to be "normal". Their travels take us on a type of National Geographic exploration but,is clearly a desperate trek by the parents to find "that miracle cure" that will make Rowan a "normal" son. If nothing else, it left me knowing that parents of Autistic children can always use a helping hand from those of us who care about them.
